I never set out simply to build a wedding venue. I wanted to build a place that reminds us to make time for the people we love.
For much of my life, I did what so many of us do. I worked hard, raised a family, built a career, and kept moving toward the next thing. Then life reminded me—in ways I never could have anticipated, just how precious our time really is.
At 40, I underwent open-heart surgery for a congenital heart defect. It was one of those moments that makes “tomorrow isn’t promised” feel less like a cliche and more like a hard hitting reality.
Then our family experienced the unimaginable loss of my daughter, Alani. Losing her forever changed the way I think about time, family, and the moments we assume we'll have later. It cemented something my heart surgery had already begun teaching me: the people we love are the reason for so much of what we work for, yet the pace of everyday life can leave us with far too little time to simply be with them.
Meadow Haven at Alani Grove grew from that realization.
I wanted to create a place where people could step away from the noise, the schedules, the phones, and obligations.
A place to celebrate a marriage without feeling rushed. To sit around a table with family. To reconnect with old friends. To walk through a meadow, breathe deeply, laugh loudly, stay a little longer, and remember why we entered that race in the first place.
Although Meadow Haven will be a beautiful destination for weddings and celebrations, my vision has always been bigger than a venue. I want it to be a haven, a place intentionally designed around connection, nature, family, and the moments that become our memories.
As a woman building this business from the ground up, I'm learning as I go. You'll see some of that journey here, the dreams, the decisions, the challenges, and eventually, I hope, the transformation of a piece of Texas Hill Country into the place I've carried in my heart.
With love,
Sabrina
